    Hi everyone;
    I have a 8600GT on my PC,and it worked pretty well,but last night when I tried to turn on my PC,instead of a normal boot beep,I got one long and two short beeps,which represents a problem with the VGA and that the motherboard can't recognize it...So I tried everything I could,but didn't get any results...So I changed the VGA with another one and the PC started up normally ...Assuming the 8600GT has got a problem,I tested it on a couple of different computers,and guess what,it worked perfectly fine on both of them!!
    So does anybody have any ideas on what I can try?:confused:
    Thanks are in advance

    Hi,

    Was the card you replaced the 8600GT with a PCI-express card as well or was it a PCI card?If it was not a PCI-express card maybe there is a problem with the PCI-e slot on the system board. Do you have another PCI-e slot you can try the 8600GT card in on your system board? Also, do you have another power supply you could try in your computer? The current one might be having a problem, especially if the new card you tested doesnt need as much power as the 8600 card. You can also try to reset your BIOS on the motherboard. You do this by unplugging the power cord, removing the CMOS coin battery, then hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Then put the battery back in, plug in the power and try to boot.

    Hi again,
    Thanks for your help...The card I replaced with the 8600GT was also a PCI-e one,so the problem wasn't the PCI-e slot...And I already had reseted the BIOS a couple of times,so the problem wasn't this one either...So thanks to your help,I tried another PSU and everything worked properly ! I have no idea why the PSU went wrong but I don't care anyway!!
    So thank you again Wildcard...
    Have a nice time
