Good day guys! Im having a problem about my Chimei CMV 946A LCD. Whenever i turned on my AVR most often my monitor will not display any details even "no signal" but the light is turned green.

Normally, when it turns right... whenever i turned my avr ON (not yet on my cpu), it should display "No Signal input" and after a while the green LED will change from green to orange.

But most often it will display pure black(no light) and permanently turn the LED to green..

what ived done is to turn ON and OFF the avr again until it will have a display..

Can someone tell my what is the problem here? HELP!!

Hi,

I would first try swapping it out with another monitor to see if the problem carries over to the new monitor. If it doesnt carry over, chances are the monitor is going bad. If it does carry over to the new monitor, there could be a problem with your video cable or the video card itself. Reseat the video cable at both ends or if you have another cable, swap it out to see if that makes a difference. Also reseat the video card in its slot and test. If you have another slot you can plug the video card into, try that one as well. If that still does not help, I would try a different video card if possible to see if the card is malfunctioning. If your monitor has the ability to use either a vga or DVI cable, try switching the type of cable in case the port on the monitor is going bad. Check the monitor, video card, and cable for bent or broken pins as well to see if they show damage.
