I just recently got the '256MB Chaintech GeForce FX 5600XT' and when I install any drivers over 4.5.2.3 I get problems when I try to play most games. Like the game will load and I can hear the sounds and everything when it's in the menu or whatever but I can't see anything. Or when I load the game it's just a bunch of colours. I was just curious if anyone knew the cause of this or if anyone else has experienced this as well... my computer specs are below. I'm also running Windows XP Professional. Also if you know how to upgrade bios can someone please help me with that too.

    AMD Athlon 2100+ XP
    Western Digital 80GB
    256MB Chaintech GeForce FX 5600XT
    768MB DDR PC2700 RAM
    Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Dolby
    Asus A7A266 Mobo
    Cicero 17" FlatScreen Monitor
Atlas Tower Case w/ 420W CWT PS
    Aopen 10/100 PCI Network Card

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Are you uninstalling the previous drivers first?
You might wanna take a look at the Omega Drivers. I haven't used them on nVidia-based cards yet, but I know they seem to fix some issues that some people run into with the stock ATi drivers. It might do the same for the nVidia ones.

You also might want to make sure you've got the latest drivers for your motherboard while you're at it (although it's an older mobo, so the ALi chipset drivers might not be updated any more).
