Can anyone tell me what this erroe message means that i get when i try to install XP:

File Vga.sys caused an unexpected error (4096) at line 3138 in d:\xpclient\base\boot\setup\setup.c.

I tried it a couple times and it gets hung up at the same spot. Please help.

i would of thought vga.sys was something to do with graphics drivers or something like that. is it a copied version of windows, and have you formatted it or upgrading (i would format) + whats ya pc spec. hope this helps post backe Dave :good:

Comp Specs: Everything is brand new, just assembled monday. And yes, I am using a copied windows disc. Could this be the problem??

Yeah if it's a copied disc it sounds as though that file is corrupted.

I'd try using the actual cd and it should alleviate the problem.

yea using a copied version cud be a problem try installing the compact version and this might bypass this particular file if not try and get a different copy hope this helps Dave :good:
