Hello I was wondering if I could get everyone's opinion on my problem..Im fairly sure it is my processor, but I really wanna know before spending money. Any ideas will be appreciated.
    I recently bought this motherboard
    JetWay 775GT1-LOGE LGA 775
Which was suppose to be used with a pretty old(3 years old) Prescott Pentium4 3Ghz processor, and everything worked fine for about a month. One night I turned off the computer as I regularly did and the next day it decided not to work anymore. When I try to push the switch it would attempt to turn on but it just 'dies' right away(meaning the power on led would flash and the ps would try to start but wouldn't). I already tried different power supply and during that process I noticed that if I didn't plug in the 12v connector on the mb the PS would start working normally, but if I plugged it in, it would again try to start and die right away. When I removed the processor and connected the 12v connector, the PS would work normally. I want to make sure it is the processor, because this thing has battled like no other.
I'd appreciate any ideas in case I'm missing something
    Thanks in advance.

it's very unlikely to be the CPU and with that board does have tend to overheat on the northbridge, so, it's most likely to have overheated to such an extent that it killed the board

in short i think it's the MB

I would go with a better, more well known brand motherboard

its unusual that the pc turns off and flashes the led. this may be an indication of something and its trying to tell you something (like beep codes), check with the manual. - this would be a good indicator for mobo manufactures if there was too little power juicing the mobo

it sounds like its your motherboard. it would make sense if the pc turns off without flashing the led as it would only flash if your pc is in sleep mode (case led, not mobo led)

i would re-install the cpu heatsink (with paste) to rule out any heat possibilities (your pc will shut down if the cpu overheats) if that fails i would return my mobo

    good luck
