Is it possible to play PS, PS2, XBOX and XBOX 360 games on the computer. Any software, hardware or anythin which allows their games to play on the computer coz I know that we can use XBOX consoles on the computer by using a USB adapter.

There was a PS1 emulator, called Bleem, but it was eventually discontinued. It was around when Windows 98 was the mainstay, so it's rather old, but it might be worth looking for. Not sure about anything else.

Don't bother man, it an awkward configuration, download times would be horrid, you'd get tons of malware, and the performance would be craptacular. Just stick with your consoles. If you're interested in just using you're computer monitor it's a different story though...

And, I'm sure you're wondering why console discs can't simply play on computers, considering the XBOX uses a Pentium 3 and custom GeForce graphics.

    Two reasons:

The OS. Most consoles do not use a Windows OS and don't have to be 'installed'.
I've also heard that some consoles have a proprietary format in use. However, it's more than likely a filesystem that's simply natively unreadable by Windows, and not some radically different disc system (like CD vs. DVD that require a different laser).

You guys are right and either Microrosoft or Sony, neither of them will allow users to play their games on the computer because they will loose their business like this. Anyways, I was just thinking that having one machine instead of three machines would be good for me.:)

Also, the games are only made to support a certain set of hardware---the console, so even if you do get them to work, they're more likely to run like crap because they don't have the support of what you're likely running. That's not their fault.

Consoles are very profitable, and like it or not, MS and Sony are for-profit businesses. If you hate them for that, then you're probably going to hate Crest for putting out toothpaste and toothbrushes.

What are you guys talking about? Of course you can play games consoles on a computer!

If you are looking for a good Playstation emulator, check out ePSXe. It runs flawlessly on my Pentium 3 Geforce2 Ultra.

As for XBOX, GameCube etc, look here

PS1 emulators require a good 16MB-32MB Graphics card. I'd expect any Geforce or Radoen could handle it.
For the PS2 emulators, i'd expect you'd need a pretty good card, say at least 128MB. A fast computer would be good too!

Are you joking? PSX games look better when played through ePSXe!

What GPU are you using? I suggest you use Pete's OpenGL plugin and change the settings to MAX! Extra smoothing and extra sprites will make it look a lot better.
