    Hi,

I hope this is a failry simple query.

Upgrading my PC to a i7 920, and i am wondering if the number of ram sticks has any bearing on performance. With quad cores, if i am running multiple applications or multi threaded apps, say if i have 4 gig of ram, should i be buying 4 1 gig sticks so each core has its own ram, or wouldnt that make any difference (and buy 2 x 2gig sticks so i have some ram slots free for future ram expansion)

    Newb question... lol

    But thanks for any help

Hi, no you want to get a tripple channel kit say 6gb. So your memory will be in triple channel configuration. in other words the cpu can request 3x more data than a single stick of ram running in single channel configuration.
