hey guys, I am looking at two CPUs primarally for Solidworks and Auto-CAD use. I cant find benchmarks for single cpu for the E5420 only the QX6850. Can someone point me in the right direction for side to side benchmarks of these two CPUs? Also which one do you think would be better for my application? thanks rich
here u go its difficult to find cpu benchmarks on software (as apposed to gaming performance), but i managed to find these google searches for the programs you mentioned: Solidworks Autocad
I doubt you're gonna have a Xeon benchmark on there though. That's mostly for desktop procs and Xeon doesn't typically fall in that.
So no one even has a guess on which would be better? The quad core Xeon or the Dual core Extreame for 3D renderings/Solidworks?
Personally, my knowledge of server/workstation class parts are limited. I'm also not familiar with solidworks, so I'm not quite how well the thread architecture is implimented in it.
