Ok I'm looking for an ad-blocking extension to firefox ... and yes, I know about adblock. But I don't understand from its description whether it does exactly what I want it to or something else, so I need help figuring this out. I'd like to be able to right-click on a banner ad if i want to and have it disappear (read somewhere that one of the extensions does that.) BUT, that does not necessarily mean putting it on a blacklist. So, I don't want the extension to automatically block anything by itself, only when I tell it to, and I don't want it to remember any previous blocks and automatically block those on future sessions either. In other words, I want it to be purely manual. Does adblock do that? It seems to me that adblock works on an automatic principle, kind of like spybot-s automatic immunization thing but for banner ads.
Dude, THANK YOU! That thing is awesome! And precisely what I was hoping for and more. Only tiny thing is that the "remove this object" option doesn't pop up when u right click directly on a flash ad cuz u get a totally different menu than the usual right-click menu =(. So u have to click outside it on the frame or panel that it's sitting in, which makes the task slightly demanding and time-consuming than the otherwise 1-second deal. But still, I love it!
If you are only blocking adverts, then "Adblock plus" and "Adblock Filterset.G Updater" are definetly 4u! For flash objects etc it adds a small tab above it with the option to block it! BUT, "Adblock Filterset.G Updater" Means that you are unlikely to ever see another ad again! (it is quite strange at first!). AdBlock Plus Adblock Filterset.G Updater
