question about Spyware Blaster

I was thinking of downloading the latest version of Spyware Blaster off download.com and, while scanning through the user reviews looking for all the cons/complaints people might have, came across this comment:

Pros: Easy to install and uninstall. Blocks ActiveX Spyware. Windows XP SP2 has already built in activeX blocker in the Internet Explorer 6, therefore SpywareBlaster is superfluous for Windows XP SP2 users.

Cons: SpywareBlaster has no scanner and no remover.

Is this true what he says? Does IE6 really do the same things for itself which Spyware Blaster is supposed to accomplish? Perhaps it's needless to say that I'm rather skeptical... But I'm also intrigued at the same time.

I am sure i got this awfull spyware once prompting me to install Spyware Blaster.
