I have a motherboard which can take AMD CPUs with a FSB of 266, however looking and finding any such CPU in stock is proving to be a mission impossible (UK).

Can I install a CPU with a higher FSB such as 333 and would this simply drop to the fsb of 266?

    Regards

I think it will be ok if you have a higher FSB CPU in a lower FSB mobo. But you won't be able to run the CPU at the full speed.
If you want to do a serious upgrade, then I recommend getting a new mobo, which would allow more upgrades.
