    Hi guys

Hopefully one of the big geeks will read this.... :O

I am in an auction for a ThermalTake PurePower 480W PSU SATA Silent.

It is used but apparently in good nick. The only thing that I am abit worried about is the noise. According to the seller:

    Noise : 17 dBA at 1300 rpm, 45 dB at 4800 rpm.
Can I assume that the 1300 RPM will be for idling? and 4800 under some cruel punishment? I do not mind spending the money but I do not want a screamer.... :p

Also, are most PSU's of standard size? This is to replace my generic PSU...

    Thanks for the quick responce...

yeah that 4800 rpm will be under full load, that means all the power is being used and the PSU really needs to keep cool, using it normally will mean its aroun 20-25dba i should think, they look like good units those thermaltake ones...
