I can't get the mic to work on my Logitech Quick Cam Messenger. I did have an older model hooked up last month which worked fine. The mic for this cam is located on top of the cam itself. I do not find the device listed anywhere when doing sound tests or other checks. I have gone through the sound recorder, the msn audio/video set up, the audio settings for the cam itself, the sound hardware test wizard and the troubleshooting guides for windows. I have uninstalled previous drivers. I have uninstalled the drivers that came with this cam and reinstalled them again. I have a HP multimedia keyboard, but it did not interfere with the mic on my old cam. What else can I do?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I've tried plugging it into 4 different USB slots on the tower, and even the one on my keyboard too.

Edit: I just noticed, and I must admit, I like the title of "Geek Trainee".

I had a Quickcam once, and I had the same problem as you. The mic just didn't seem to exist.
