    Hi everybody!

This is my first post so please have mercy on me :)

I'm currently thinking about getting a new video card and i narrowed it downed to a Radeon 4870:

    Newegg.com - XFX HD-487A-ZHFC Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

This is my motherboard i currently have:

    Newegg.com - ASUS M2N68-AM SE2 AM2+/AM2 NV Geforce 7025 / nForce 630a chipset AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

    My question is:

Will i be able to fit this Video card into my motherboard?

Is it compatible with my motherboard? The reason i ask is i don't quite understand the PCI-Express X16 2.0? Does it mean its backwards compatible?

Heres some other specs of my computer that may help with your answers:

    AMD Athlon(tm) 7750 Duel-Core 2.5 processor
    650 watt psu Antec Trio
    4gigs of Ram
    OS Windows Vista Home Premium

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance!

PCI-e x16 2.0 graphic cards and motherboards are backwards compatible with PCI-e x16 stuff.. :)

    PCI-Express x16 2.0 is has a higher bus speed (4GB/s)
    PCI-Express x16 1.0 has a lower bus speed (2GB/s)

So if you have a PCI-Express x16 2.0 card and a PCI-Express x16 1.0 (x8 mode) slot your motherboard will limit the cards performance.

I've checked the specs of your motherboard doesn't state wether it's 1.0 or 2.0 so check your motherboards manual and find out.
