I just had a new comp built 3 months ago and had a PowerColor Raedon 9600 SE installed in it.Everything worked great for about 2 months,but now when I try to play some games the screen will lock up and I will have to power down the comp to unfreeze it.It happens when I play UT online or offline, a new game called Guildwars (which it worked great on at first) and when my son plays Runescape it has just started to do it.It doesn't lock up when I am watching Mpegs or any type of video, or surfing the web or playing other games.I have tried to update the drivers only to have my comp lock up on me in the middle of the update. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? The video board or am I barking up the wrong tree, could something else be the prob? I am running WinXp Professional,AMD Athlon XP 2800+,512RAM Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Seams like an overheating problem. Do you have any temps? Also what PSU do you have? Some of the generic cases come with cheap PSUs.
