i recently bought some ddr2 gskill RAM which is constantly freezing my OS. i have 4 sticks (2gb each). right now I have 1 stick in, which seems to be running smoothly. whenever i put all of them in, the freezes come within 5 minutes. i went into the bios and put the timing to 5-5-5-15 and the freq to 266/800 and voltage to 1.925. im lost here, because this is exactly what the RAM settings need to be, and my mobo supports it. ive also tried to put 2 sticks in with these settings and it froze. i also increased the FB voltage when 4 sticks were in. help!! gskill ddr2 ram Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ - Desktop Memory dfi lanparty p35 mobo Newegg.com - DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
you tried to run memtest with one stick of ram at a time? see if you have any errors. what O/S you running?
running windows 7 x64, i havent run memtest, but there is nothing wrong with the RAM since each stick works individually, but not all together. this means it has something to do with the mobo settings
most likely because its Windows 7 beta, still in working progress. I would create a dual boot system and see how your system runs in Vista or even a Vista Virtual Machine using VMware.
