    Hi all

this is a bit of a jumbled up kind of question but i hope you can help me anyways

when building a system i allways look for the best mix of components to get the maximum price to performance ratio.

i can get 2gb of corsair value select ddr2-667 for the same price as 1gb of the fancy corsair performance ram (ddr2-800) will a system with 2gb of ddr2-667 outperform, all other things equal, a system with 1gb of performance ram?

the system will be used for everything from normal surfing/worrd prossessing to gaming and it will run MS vista ultimate 64bit. it will not be overclocked

    thanks :)

also how would the results look if it was 4gb of the cheaper (667) vs 2gb of the more expensive (800) systems

I would say the cheaper and slower 4GB 667MHZ is better then having 2GB 800MHZ but why not get the 6400 and overclock it close to 800MHZ???
