Here's the dillemma: I have an EVGA 680i SLI motherboard with 4 GB of DDR2 RAM running at 800mhz. My CPU is a Q6600 with a fsb of 1066 mhz. When I upgrade to 8 GB of ram should I buy DDR2 1066 or DDR2 800? Should I get ram clocked even higher than that? Any help is appreciated!

q6600 cpu is a good overclocker, suprised you havn't done any OC'ing. I would set your system bus to 1333mhz if your board handles that frequency. Also up your vcore to 1.35v. then buy your self some 1066mhz memory if your board handles that frequency. If you do decide to overclock then make sure you've got a good cpu heatsinks and keep an eye on your temps.

Yeah, I know that it is a good overclocker, I'm not exactly an extreme guy I guess. :) Anyway, the question I was getting at was what speed RAM I should get if I was going at the stock clocks. The board is rated for up SLI ready memory at up to 1066 mHz if I am correct. I guess If I ever decide to go from 4 to 8Gb my biggest question is if I should go with the 800mhz or go with the faster 1066 RAM. Thanks for the reply!
