    Hi,
    Plaese can anybody help

Just got 2 gig of ram put then both in nothing happened, started up pc and left with a blank screen. Took 1 gig out put back in 512mb and the computer started. the bios recognised the 512mb and the 1 gig but total memory in the bios and in windows xp home is still 512 mb

Used a wizard of the internet and you can see that the 1 gig has been recognised

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC3200,DDR PC2700,DDR PC4000 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
    Maximum Memory Capacity: 2048MB
    Currently Installed Memory: 1536 MB
    Available Memory Slots: 1
    Number of Banks: 2

What motherboard have you got? Some boards only allow certain combinations of RAM speeds, modules on the sticks etc.
Make sure your board can support 2gb of DDR333 and not just DDR266 for example. Make sure it supports more than one stick if you are using a DIMM with 32 DDR chips etc.

If you find what board you have then it should be simple to find out what it supports. Try PCWizard if you dont know what you have.

    I Have an Asrock P4VM800

PCwizard says the ram are both the same just that they are differnet sizes and one is single bank and the other double.

    Does this help

    Thanks Joh
