Random Graphics Screwups

Hiho all.
Over the last few months, my gfx card (radeon 9700pro) has been randomly screwing up on me :( When i play games, sometimes its fine, others the graphics screw up to the point of non playability. Bright coloured lines usually start, then characters have huge spikes coming out of them, random 3d shapes, lights, spaces of no gfx, etc etc. This happens in all games, but its very random, sometimes it goes days at a time without doing it, others it does it all day. Upon exiting the game, the bright lines remain on the desktop, and overlay other programs, ie internet explorer.

Below is an example of ingame graphics

And upon exiting a game today

If anyone has any thoughts, id be very grateful

It does look like the card is dying.

They are artefacts, and are usually a sign of - faulty card, corrupt drivers.

Try reinstalling (remove old ones first) drivers for the card, or try the card in a different PC.

Oke thanks :O I did open up the comp, give all of it a dust and jiggle the card around a tad. The graphics errors stopped for a couple of days, but very occasionally the green lines flash on and off, only for a split second. Not sure if this means theres a loose connection somewhere or if the card is actually broken.
