laptop clean install... Have got the problem sorted and information may be useful to other (fools) like me! When trying to create a rescue floppy boot disk by downloading it, do not "save" it to downloads or anywhere else and then copy to the floppy. RUN it and it will save it to the floppy, opened and ready to use. If it is saved, it won't work. It has to be unzipped or run first. Yes, I feel like a dork but I didn't want to "run" an ME boot or generic boot floppy from Packard Bell on my Advent PC in case it started to do a boot on the latter. I didn't realise it would just open it and then save the opened file to the floppy. Sorry to anyone who wanted to help but didn't realise that I was a burk. E
Helps to keep posts like this on the same thread, could have saved me five minutes work. :smash: Congrats anyway.
