    Try WinAmp for a music library.

    Now that i've used Amarok for Linux, I find it very difficult to rate any of the media players available for Windows :D

    However, Realplayer 10 is OK I suppose. It's a bit bloated though

    Would you bother with anything after Amarok? :p

    For windows I would use Winamp, I found it the other day at work... it's quite neat....

    Windows media player? I suppose. It's aleady there isn't it? LOL

    The best feature in Winamp I like is their Searching tool.... Press F3 and type the name of song u want. Also the keyboard keys for it easier than WMP..... Its easy to remember the keys of Winamp.
    z,x,c,v,b .....Exactly in the way its on the winamp...
    Z = previous, X = Play, C= Pause, V = Stop, B=Next....

    <|(z).... >(x)......||(c).....[](v)......|>(b)
    Insert = Add folder....
    S = shuffle,
    R = Repeat.....

    Ofcourse, you can add lots of plugins with winamp for I/O effects... I use Enhancer for DSP effect! and other features are like u can send it to the corner exactly where ur system date time is. U can even add buttons over there also..... This makes it much easier to access.

    Quintessential player - great thing. It's fast, customizable (huge amount of skins available). Several language packs... a.s.o. A intuitive GUI, keyboard shortcuts... you name it. ;)

    I prefer, as others here have mentioned, vlc for video.

    And, if your in windows, I recommend foobar2000 for audio. Foobar2000 is a nice, light weight audio player with great support and a good community. It is also highly customizable while it is light weight.

    VLC media player
