I had my WD Netcenter drive die. In an attempt to recover I removed the drive from the NAS enclosure. I put it in an enclosure but my win machines were unable to see the drive. I bought some recovery software. It was able to see my drive but it reported the file system type as RAW. I copied the data to my machine and now have a copy of all my pictures, movies and music but everything is named FILE001 through just over 1 million. The files have no meaningful name, no date, etc. I have no way to effectively use the data besides opening each file one at a time. Is there any way to recover in a more graceful way? I tried "recover boot sector" option as well but it just copies a 0k file that doesn't seem to help. Thanks for any advice. - Also, please advise if you know of any software that can read and rename based off of exif data incase that hasn't been lost.
