Removable and local drives

Hi, not too long ago, I accidentally converted my C drive into a removable disk. Since then, however, I have been experiencing difficulties when trying to install certain anti-virus software. It refuses to be installed on a removable disk. I am unable to change it back to how it was, can someone please tell me how I could do this?

Thanks in advance,

Josh

P.S. I am running windows ME

It's been a long time since I've actively used ME or any Win9x OS, but I believe that what you did may be fixable only by reinstalling the OS. If you could retrace your steps you might be able to undo it, but it sounds like reinstalling ME is the only way to get around the problem.

As for some programs not installing onto a removable disk/disc, I believe that it's a safety feature because programs need to access the registry to work properly. Not all programs do, but it makes sense for an AV program.

are you running windows xp because if u r u can do a system restore m8. hope this helps Dave :good:
