Removed case fans

I have recently removed my intake and out - take case fans!, and i have replaced my old noisy cpu fan with a coolermaster silent one, its a 2600rpm 80mm one, its very good

since i have made these changes my cpu temperature is:

40oC - 45oC idle

46oC - 52oC full load

My system tmeperature is:

32oC when cpu is idle

35oC - 36oC when cpu is under full load
My pc has been running fine and iv'e had no crashing problems or anything,

what to people think of these temperatures!!!!
 
I think system temperatures are relative to the ambient temperature of the room they're in. If you live in an area that's consistently cold (as opposed to where I live in SoCal), that's probably a good solution! If not, you might consider investing in either some variable speed fans or 'smart' fans. Or, if you've got the beans, water-cooling is nice. :)
 
Well it depends on what cpu you have and its Vcore but /2C of system temp without any case fans is good imo.

I have a Thermaltake SmartFan II on my cpu. I like to have the ability to crank it up when needed, although I never need to (unless dust is accumulated) because that slk 800A is so much powerfull !

I need to find quieter solutions though, that's the next step for me. And I think that Smart Fan will have to come out the case for that.

The silent cpu cooler i'm using is a Coolermaster CP5 -8JD1F, its brilliant, as a previous user of 60mm cpu cooling fans, this silent coolermaster cpu cooler is copper based which is good, and the fan is an 80mm one, its wide as well as deep which means even though it spins at 2600 rpm it's cooling capabilities are great, it just as affective as a beasty 5600 rpm 60mm fan!, as the coolermaster cpu cooler moves more air,

If you want a nearly quiet pc, get one of these, oh yeah did i mention that they cost around £9, lol, got mine from www.aria.co.uk

300w PSU, thermal controled & noise reduction
Jetway 600 DAP mobo (onboard 5.1 sound & lan)
Athlon XP 2000+, 266 FSB, "palomino"
512 DDR 400
Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128mb ddr
1 x 80gb seagate barracuda 7200 rpm hdd
1 x 80gb seagate 5400 rpm hdd
Ricoh 4x DVD burner
Standard 16x DVD rom

My Monitor:

17" llyama Vision Master Pro 413, 1600 x 1200 "max res", DiamondTron Flat tube.
 
bout the thing that Anti-Tread said bout liveing in a cooler area. well i live in brisbane australia and i have got to say it is bout 35 degrees and its 11:30 at night so i have alot of great cooling techniques like my idea of takeing both my side panels off and drapeing a wet towel across then does a great job until the towel it completly dry with doesnt take any longer then 30mins ;)

If anybody should be water cooling, it's you misunoko. :) <peer_pressure>I know it gets hot as blazes out there, and you don't seem skiddish about getting water around those components. So why not? </peer_pressure> :chk:
 
i dont see the need for water cooling i lived near brisbane out in mount crosby for a few months and i had 3 pc's in one room over xmas, the temperature in the room at points was over 40C and they were all fine. Even the overclocked one, with a Cooler Master Aero Lite 7+. (Dell p4 2.4ghz @ 2.8ghz)
 
Watercooling requires balls of steel. I almost had a WC setup going, but I was never able to get the damnable pump sealed. Until we have to have WC to run PC's, I'm staying out of it.
 
i have a water cooling kit just sitting there yet i dont have the gut to put it in not that i need it but i think if i could get it run for a week or soo out side the case then maybe i would trust the bloody thing. I hered rumors that if you put sumthin like metho or any 100% alchohole if it leaks not as much damage will be done cos it drys to quick or sumthing can any one clarify this rumor for me please
 
I don't think it'd make much difference. Fried is fried :( But, if you are going to water cool, definately let it run for a week or so. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have the thing crap out and leak on my desk than on my MoBo. :swt:

well they are just rhumors buddy. nothing will dry fast enough-once moisture hits a mobo or anything else;damage is damage.

if you get wc, definately let in run into like a sink or shower somewhere it can leak- and easy cleanup and repair. i would never get a watercooling installed- i would trust no one with water in my case. i would do it all myself and use precautions. like i would take a hot glue gun and seal off the tips of the tube to the water block thingy, but thats just me. water cooling is nothing to fear:just know what your doing and how to do it PROPERLY. you snooze you lose.
