I have been experimenting with caustics from metallic surfaces and when coming to render with Mental Ray, Maya has frozen up. This happens everytime I try to render with mental ray and its really starting to annoy me as most of the rendering I want to do is with mental ray. I have looked through the render logs and have found nothing that says it was having trouble rendering. It just seems to stop.

Has anyone else had this problem and solved it? I really need help on this one.

    Cheers

For the sake of argument, lets assume its a legitimate copy.

If it is, then try reinstalling it.

If it is, lets say, not so legal, then many cracked versions have errors, a friend of a friends version of CS would not load on my pc when I tried it, just froze at startup.

Yer I think I'll reinstall and go from there.

Hehe. It might be legal, but then again it might not be

It has worked mate! Cheers! So simple but often these solutions reign supreme!

I don't do much for a living seeing as im in education at the mo! (hint to legality of software there) Now I just need more RAM to get things rendering a bit quicker :good:

    Cheers!
