Regarding my previous question, a little brief:

I had desktop pc that wouldn't go in regular mode, it frozen every time but, no problem at all in save mode. One of the things I tried to do was a "Repair" from the install CD. When it works it is great since it fixes the OS without breaking the programs already installed.

I thought that the "repair" option in the Windows installation appeared just when the System Restore was enabled in the system. In this case I didn't have it(the repair option), so I assumed I didn't have either the System Restore enabled...so I didn't even thought in use it. Then I realized that I was able to use it and...it fixed my problem.
Why then I was able to go back in time and I hadn't the repair option in the install process?

Any theory on when this option is available and when not?

    Thaks

Your post was a bit unclear, but I don't think repair is dependent on system restore.

I've used it a few times and most of the time if you try to install on a partition it asks to repair it.
