    Hello,

recenlty my Lacie 250GB HD which I only used with my Mac, was repartitioned on a windows xp machine, without formatting it(my brother stopped the procedure when he read the "now you have to format" string :p).
My Mac now wants to partition it while windows wants a format, so i cant see my data.

Is there a way to recover the old partition info? Or do I have to use a recover software to get my data back?

Thanks a lot for help, im really desperate:confused:

    Regards,
    Iggy

    hi iggzypug

yes, you will have to use recovery software to have any chance of getting you files, if you take it to a specialist it costs a premium, so recovery software is the best bet.

I've not come across a freeware tool which can help recover a whole partition but I have used Active@ UNDELETE Data Recovery which recovered most if not all of my files.
