You're 21 and in school? Theres not a lot of material to write a full paper on unless you go into the depths of the differing arhictecture or major turning points in processor history and how it had an impact on the structure of today's software and hardware.

Yes i am 21 in school. finished highschool when i was 18 took a year of worked and saved for college and now i am in my 2nd year of college. thx for the input though. this paper does not have to be 2 fancy so. for Amd would the AMD Athlon™ 64 FX Processor be the consumer best bet for a gaming pc?

Yeah the FX-57 is an all out speed beast. The X2 CPU's are more for multitasking but still perform well in games, for an all out gaming speed machine the FX-57 is the way to go!

Ah college i was thinking school as in my type :).

Personally, I would write one on dual core processors, AMDs A64 X2 and Intel Pentium Ds. They're quite different, and some googling will get some extra resources.

Yeah good idea, and now Dual Core Intel Xeon's are out you can compare them to the AMD 'Server' CPU's the Dual Core Opterons...
