    Well, at least if people want a no-nonsense OS like RH, they've got CentOS...

    Um, WTF? Red Hat has used YUM for ages, and it works perfectly on RHEL 4.4.

    My servers use yum exclusively, and they have zero issues getting regular updates and installing new software. From the article:
    Yeah. What do the beta repositories have anything to do with the quality of YUM? Up2date has been pretty obsolete for a while now, and YUM has been some of the best-in-class for a while. I'm no Red Had apologist (support Reiser3, guys! Come on now!), but bashing YUM as a package manager because the mirrors online for the beta packages were overloaded is just asinine. Apparently, eWeek editors are UNIX-challenged. That or this article is intended as FUD...
