Slashdot is reporting that some of the root dns servers came under a DDos (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack some time last night, not many details are going around but here's a quick summery of ideas/comments from the slashdot article!

    1. Thank goodness... for resolving caches!
    2. Is it just me or is going after servers that people expect up to 3 business days to update not the best way to go? You would have to sustain the attack for a long time for the average joe to notice.
    3. EFIMGL... LIFE GM. (Grandmaster) Apparently some group isn't 'flexing their muscle' as you so put it but probably spreading their initals in the form of taking down DNS servers corresponding with their team name.

3 business days? Why not 3 normal days? Do the servers take a longer weekend off?
