Router/Modem - temperatures?

Big Geek
Just received a replacement router/modem (Zoom 5654 Model) this morning. The original one overheated as far as tech support and myself could determine.

Everything is working fine and I can use Linux once again (yipeee!), as I could not get a connection in Linux using my old SpeedTouch 330, so I was stuck with using XP, where the ST 330 works fine.

Question: do router/modems tend to generate more heat than an ordinary ADSL modem? The reason I ask is that the replacement router/modem's casing feels quiet warm to the touch - but not nearly as warm as the original one that I had to send back!

Using a router/modem is relatively new to me, but do they generally get quiet warm, as my old SpeedTouch 330 never seemed to generate any heat at all?

Cheers,

David

Mine always feels warm, but never hot. Don't think its a problem as long as it has some ventilation.
