I have a Asus p4c800-deluxe motherboard, running a intel 2.8c fsb800 ht, Thermalright sp94 heatsink and a 90mm fan. I use the Asus probe to check the cpu temp and I get 28c to 30c at idle. Is that a good temp at idle.

What program can I use to heat up the cpu.

What temp is safe for my cpu when it runnes a stress program.

    Please help if you can.

    Thank You

Any temps under 60C are acceptable for your CPU at extended load. Ideally, you should keep it under 50C. Your temps look good!

That is what I needed to know. Thank You very much. What is a good program that does not take long to stress my cpu. I want to check the cpu temp differences.

Prime 95 is the quickest way. Otherwise, run some Folding @ Home. Besides a blatant plug to join the team, it really does heat the CPU up hotter than P95 does.

And it also gives you something cooler to watch than P95. If you get the GUI client.
