    Hi all

I know this is a complete long shot in the dark.
Has anyone got the drivers for a PCI SATA controller card using the CK-0019A chipset? The CD which came with the card seem to only have the RAID utility set-up program. XP will not recognise anything on the disk in the way of drivers for the chipset....

I am trying to download the bugger from the only site I found but it is crawling!
1.8Kbps!!!! I am back to dial-up! :swear:!!!!!!!!!

Does the cd of the chipset has a utility that can make a driver floppy disk?

No, that would have been my next question to the forum...

Anyway, I think I have panicked too quickly. The drive which is connected to the PCI card is now accessible so the installation achieved it's goals.
However, if I ever wanted to install Windows on a drive connected to the card, unless I find a utility to create the floppy disk, I am stuffed...

Oh, well.... bargains from eBay for you....

Okay, XP will require drivers if the controller is set in a RAID mode, regardless of wether or not you're using a RAID array.

From what Google is telling me when I use that card info, you've got an ALI M5283 chip on the card. If you're able to go into it's BIOS (not the motherboard's) see if you can set it in a non-RAID mode, and you should be all set for installation.

I don't know if this helps, but I ran across these drivers for the M5283.

    Hi BB

Thanks for this. I did not realise you could disable the RAID mode.
I will give it a go as I am not inetrested in RAID in any shape or form.

Thanks for chasing the drivers. Unfortunately, when you try to download it says something like - "Unfortunately no download links for this program are available at this moment. You can notify us here." yadi, yadi, ya.

Thanks very much for the new info!
The principal works! New day - something new learned!

Well, if nothing else, you might be able to track down some drivers with the chipset.

I needed some RAID drivers for XP with my ASUS P4S800D-X. Went over to asus.com and downloaded the RAID driver package. It had a program to create a floppy with drivers. I just needed to insert it, and during the start of the installation of XP I press F6, selected the driver, and then I could just install windows. So I think that most other motherboard manufacturers have this utility as well.

Typically, they do. But this is a PCI-based SATA card...little bit of a difference.
