:( I have a MSI 915 GM-FR mainboard and the broblem is that my sata drive is shown in windows as ultra ata 100 udma5 mode and not even a word about sata-150 the drive is seagte 160Gb serial ata and this drive seem to be slower.

Then my mxtor 80Gb ata 100 drive I tried change bios settings nothing helps I have the latest bios for this mainboard however strange thing happend when sata is in Enhanced mode (PATA and Sata will both be enabled.)and I try to detect my dirve in bios it just hangs. so meybe someone can help me here and I am a mebmber in msi forum to so no point to recomend the msi forum.

Thanks to everyone

The SATA 150 being reported as UDMA5 is something that I really would not worry about at all. Windows is probably putting both SATA and IDE drives into one category...at least on the native Intel SATA controller. SATA is just a newer ATA standard.

I'm not sure, but you might check the manual to see if one of the Promise driven SATA ports can't be used at the same time the PATA port is used.

thanks for your reply ther is no word of Promise in the manual and okay its shown as ata 100 udma5 but its also alot slower then my ide drive witch is maxtor 80Gb ata133 I dont think its normal or what you think.
