What would ya'll say some of the scariest games were for you? I personally got really freaked out by American McGee's Alice when it first came out, even their rendition of the Aspyr logo made me twitch. But I think it was the cat dude and definately Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum that ruined my childhood gameing experience. I've heard that the Alien vs. Predator games were extremely scary, I have a friend who love horror themed games but couldn't even finish the first one. Doom 3 isn't really all that scary for me, it's just too predictable once you get used to the pattern, ohh, glowy gothic circle if I step here 5 baddies will spawn and disembowel me. And when in doubt check your 6 is all you have to remember to survive. In FarCry when the first Trigen lunged at my face I practically wet myself but generally the game is pretty low key in this field. And finally, the 2nd Alone in the Dark (I think it was the second anyway) was a pretty creepy game for me when it came out, even though the polygons were the size of my teeth the werewolf was just too much for an 8 year old.
Doom 3 made me jump a bit when playing at my cousins but it wasnt that scary. Theif deadly shadows isnt scary as such but it doesnt have a very eery wierd atmpsphere
yeh Doom 3 is the only thing I have ever seen that has scared me. I've watched some of the worst films out there, and none bothered me as much as doom did...
I dont play many scary types of games, so as of now, Doom3 is the scariest. Well, I wouldn't say it's scary so much as it makes me jump. Sometimes things surprise me, but it's not like they are particularly scary.
Wow, I'm just not seeing it, yeah it's disturbing all right but I'm still holding on okay. Maybe it's cause I have the gfx settings @ medium? I think that games can scare you more than movies as you're much more immersed in the game and though it may not look as life like it's the fact that it's you facing the peril, not some actors you've seen in other films.
doomIII didn't scare me at all. I was really surprised. Then again I'm used to evil things jumping infront of me throwing fireballs at me. It's just become a part of my every day life.
Doom 3 scares the living daylights outta me, probably because I always close the door, turn off the lights, close the curtains, turn my 5.1 surround sound volume up before playing. Now THAT'S atmosphere. American McGee's Alice got me too, that really did freak me out, especially the demonic tunes played on children's instruments (thanks to a NIN band member for that). Other than that the only other game that really scared me was Resident Evil 1, bearing in mind I was quite young when I first played it, the dogs bursting through the windows REALLY scared me so much.
yea i hate it cuz my house creaks, and you hear the ppol breathing on the other side of the wall as they sleep, once i thought some1 broke into my house, but it ended up bein my friend next door, droppin a vase on the floor at 3 in the morning.
doom3 isnt that scary, but from WWR's view, it may get abit scary...id say its not scary, just full of surprises
Doom - the orginal back when it first came out scared the crap out of me. Doom 3 - it scares the crap out of me now
Then imagine what the new mod for D3 will do, they're re-making the original Doom with Doom 3's graphics.
FarCry makes me jump with the Trigens...but then again, one or two swipes from those boys will off you quick.
Silent Hill 3 was pretty creepy for me and The Suffering on Xbox will definately creep you out & make you jump. Something about ghost-kids and sharp knives dragging behind you..
Resident Evil 1 scared me but nothing has since really. I was very very young when I got it and I could never play past the bit when you see the first zombie munching on a corpse because it freaked me out and I had to turn it off haha! I'm embarressed to say I havn't played doom 3 yet (have a look in the buy/sell/trade thread and you will understand why
my lil bro's dora the explorer games are petrifying. especially since i have to help him get how to play it.. AHHHHH
Can't remember the exact link but if you go to fileplanet.com find the Doom 3 Total Conversions it'll be in there somewhere.
