Hey guys. I'm trying to mod my case out a little bit by removing my drive bay. The bay is bolted in using screws i can't remove and don't know the name of. I've seen these screws everywhere but never could get any info on them. Take a look at the picture below, they're the screws at the very top of the case with one hole in the middle: My case has the same type of screws only with 2 holes instead of 1. Any information would be great.
That aren't any screws. Those are just some pins that hold the pieces together. The only way to get these off is by using force.
No, i know what thumb screws are and the screws i'm talking about aren't thumb screws. Damn, if that't my only option that would suck. I don't want to cause permanent damage to my case mate!
Raidmax Sagitta 2. ATX Mid tower. These screws aren't holding the side panel, just some components within the case such as the drive bays.
Is this your case ? Welcome to Raidmax! It says,Screwless case design..... I believe that you just push in and turn about 1/4 of a turn..
It looks like you're talking about a rivet. It's supposed to be permanent, so if you want to remove it, you'll need to drill it out.
Yes, that's just what i was looking for. Thanks man. My case seems to have the rivets to the right. Guess i'm gonna have to pry them out.
well yes their rivets as AT said i wouldn't, if you drill them out, you can buy replacement rivets & replace them when you have finished your mod
yeah, and if the rivet starts spinning with the drill hold it still with pliers & then drill it out Edit: i think the hole size is the same as standard PC case screws, so choose about a 2mm drill bit
