Hi, i am going to sell my Pentium 4 on Ebay, but the problem is, the piece of plastic that goes on top of the cpu to stop it from falling about in the package has gone missing, so i am just wondering, what could i put there to protect the CPU and stock it from shaking about and flying around the package?

The heatsink can be wrapped up in bubble wrap, but I'd try to obtain some sort of plastic housing to keep the CPU in. Styrofoam peanuts can cause static electricity, but that's really only a problem if you're just dropping the CPU into a mound of them by itself.

I've used the Athlon 64 packaging to hold a P4 chip, and that worked.

The key is to make sure the stuff won't move around in transit.
