Hi, I am working on seting up a intel blade server with dual 2.4xeons, 4gig
of ram, with 6 seagate 36gig Ultra320 drives on a Intel SRCZCR RAID
controller. Everytime i go to setup windows 2003 server it picks up my
harddrive setup and I format them with NTFS and it begins to install. After
installing the initial files it asks to restart and when it restarts and gets
back to the GUI install screen it freezes everytime at 34 min left on step 3
of 5. What is causing this? I have tried multiple harddrive configurations
and still the same result. Is this a windows problem or a hardware issue?
    Thanks for the help.

It could be either. I'd definately run Memtest86+ overnight and see if you've got any memory problems. Otherwise, be sure you have the right drivers for your RAID controller. Finally, I'd suspect the install media itself. I've encountered bad NT install discs many times over the years. Along the way, I've discovered a trick that often solves the problem. Simply make an exact copy of the install disc at a slow burning speed, say 8x on a 52x burner. Then install from the copied media. Usually if the media was the problem, that will solve it.

I don't know if you fixed this problem but I had the same with an Intel SC5200 Chassis with an IntelĀ® Server Board SE7501BR2 b and an Intel SRCZCR RAID controller. It took me almost 8 hours to find the solution but I eventually did. I problem solved it down to the firmare on the raid controller update this and I think you will fix this problem.
