Ive been asked to put a computer together for someone and im going to plug everything in for her too which is going to involve connecting it to her BT home hub!

I dont have a clue where to start with these wireless things! My networking skills end at file and printer sharing using a parallel cable.

No doubt there will be a BT cd rom but I want to avoid using it, I hate those cds that get handed out... AOL are another one for it.
Can someone tell me where to start and what im going to have to do. I really am lost before I even get started.
How do the hardware firewalls work? Am I right in thinking no software is needed whatsoever and the hub will do all the work?
How do you make the setup secure?

The PCI wireless card is a Dynamode WL-GI-600XA. WiFi Card Dirt cheap and the drivers seems like the crap ive had before with dynamode chips but its got 802.11g, PCI2.2 support and WPA plus XP drivers so I bought it. She wanted to spend £500 and I managed this for £525 with next day delivery...

    Core2Duo E6300
    Asus P5L-mx
Corsair 667mhz 1gb in dual channel
    Maxtor (!) 160gb SATAII
    Balck Cube case Case
    19" Widescreen Monitor
DVD-RW 18x Sony and Sony Floppy
    Keyboard/Mouse, 2.1 speakers, Wifi card.

No psu on the list... its gonna have to be the generic crappy one until I persuade her to spend more money... its already over budget and a £40 psu wouldnt have done the rest of the system much good.... id have to sacrifice either dual channel ram or the core2duo.
