Shared internet connection

Hi all:

I wish to share a DSL broadband connection between my desktop PC and laptop via a wireless network! Being that my current connection is via a DSL USB modem, which of the wireless products will allow me to connect modem(USB) to router? Is this something that the majority will allow you to do? I notice that some netgear products specify a ethernet connection only!

Would I be as wise to bin the DSL modem and replace it with a Netgear DG834G 802.11g Wireless ADSL Router/Modem all-in-one combo? My laptop is wi-fi therefore I could establish a connection through this? Does anyone know if this is easy to set-up i.e. file replication/shared internet access?
