Sharing AOL connection using linksys router

Hi I have two P.C's and a laptop at my home all running on XP. Broadband was recently installed, with isp AOL. This ran on one of the P.C's fine, i then purchased a wireless linksys broadband router. Then had to purchase another modem as the provided AOL modem didnt have the ethernet connection needed for the linksys router.

Now I have all the hardware im trying to share the broadband internet between all the computers. The modem is connected to the router and the router is connected to one of the computers directly and all the computers are on a wireless network.

I am now trying to log on to AOL but it isnt allowing it, how to i get on to AOL? Thanks

Your First (And best) option is to change ISP's and burn your AOL cd (or send it here )

AOL is a REAL pain in the ****, as they make you use there software to do EVERYTHING.

I dont actually know / think it easily possibel to use AOL without there software.

All i can think of is this:

1. plug the modem into one of the computers
2. sign on to aol
3. Bridge the broadband + network connections

step 3 expalined
when you sign onto aol, goto network connections, you should see "high speed internet connection" right click on it and select the options that says "Bridge Connection" and bridge it to your wireless connection

There are 3 problems with this!
1. ALL internet access will be done under ONE of the aol accounts, so you wont be able to monitor what your kids are doing (if you have kids that is)
2. If you have kids, if you want to use the internet without the content filters, they can too! (beacuse everything will be sent/recived through the logged in account)
3. Im not even sure if windows recognises aol broadband as a network connection beacuse of the way aol has made there 'service' (lol) totallly unuseable without there 'software' (bugware)

AOL are a REALLY bad idear, you can get cheaper and faster access for less than aol offer it (if you are in the UK, read this) you can also get soem really good bundles like phone line + digital tv + broadband for £30 a month (its a cable connection, so you would need to get a cable modem with a ethernet plug)

I wouldnt bother calling the aol helpdesk (do they even have one?) beacuse there staff arnt much help / know alot about uncommon problems (i get my broadband from the phone co-op, the peopel there are VERY clued up about whats going on... there great!)
