I moved my motherboard to a new case have no cards or drives installed yet. I wanted to do a test run to see if all the fans are running. It powers up for 2 seconds then shuts down. If I remove small 4-pin aux power, it will stay running. On the other hand, it will stay running with no memory modules installed it will beep error of course and keep running all fans spin and heat sink fan as well

    Welcome to HWF :)

Have you connected the correct 4-pin plug? Most of todays power supplies got 2 4-pin plugs. One to connect next to the CPU, but the other to connect to the ATX power, if the mobo has 24 pins instead of 20.

hummm...Could be a power supply issue. Maybe it is working in the limit and when you connect the RAM it crashes.

Try to connect the RAM and disconnect all the fans...but the CPU one.
