Hi Not sure if this is the right section, but I will try. My sister's PC was working fine, she clicked on an icon and scanned for TV stations but realised she didn't have the arial plugged into her card so cancelled (this is the first time she's tried the TV through her card). Her PC froze, so she rebooted, now I can't seem to get the PC talking to the monitor. I have tested the hard drive in my PC and it is OK, I have also swapped out the video card for another one, and it is still the same. Not sure if it's something on the motherboard that has gone, or whether by scanning for the TV stations it set the monitor somehow to a TV? Any help would be appreciated. Regards Julie
Try a CMOS Reset - there should be a jumper on the motherboard that you can move to reset the CMOS. If not then you can take out the motherboard battery (carefully with your fingers) and leave it out for a couple of minutes then put it back in.
Thanks Matt, I've tried resetting and still nothing - the motherboard I'm using is a PC Chips M848A (if it makes any difference). Any other ideas? Regards Julie
go into safe mode by continuously tapping f8 wen u start ur comp. if u get into safe mode nd everything appears on da screen, den remove ur video card driver nd restart ur comp, it will detect ur graphics card nd install it. once i put da refresh rate of my monitor too high nd there was no picture on da monitor so i dun dis nnnnd it wrked. u cud also press f8 nd try 'restore to last known cconfiguration that worked..' or it's sumting like dat. try dis one first den safe mode one.
