I am still looking for that billy bargain S478 mobo.
I noticed that the SiS based mobos are not as cheap as the VIA ones but not as "expensive" as the Intel ones.

So, are they any good? From your experience, I mean.
If you know of a particular good SiS chipset, please elaborate.

    Thanks all for looking....

They're fine when it comes to functionality, but they typically come up behind everyone else when it comes to performance. Now, mind you, this difference is only discerned with software testing and not with actual use.
Probably their big killer is drivers. If it's a brand new chipset, you're more likely to see issues with driver performance than later ones.
