i got a cd bootable version of linux with a magasine, its slax linux, i forget which version but when i boot it it starts up i think (i can hear noises after i have booted everything) but no screen, monitor just stays black with power led flashing as if its not getting a signal from computer....strange
Slax is alright, but Kubuntu/Ubuntu or Overclockix/Knoppix will have better automatic hardware support. You also have to realize that if you got a CD in a magazine, it's already outdated. It is important for a live distro to be up to date, since it is much less flexible than a full-blown distro.
