I'm really thinking about upgrading my pc for oblivion and other future games but not sure which way to go. Any advice would be great.
My current set up is AMD64 FX-55, 1 gig ram and Bfg (oc) 7800 gtx 512mb. Would getting another card and going sli really be worth it? I read so many people saying they only see 5-10 fps advantage. Would another gig of ram make the same difference? thanks in advance to anyone who helps

What settings you play at and if you crank up the AA and AF settings to the max, then, yes, SLI is going to be your best friend for gaming. Now, the 7800GTX is pretty powerful in it's own right, but you can still make it crawl if you run BF2 or FEAR at maximum settings at 1600x1200 (or higher). SLI can alleviate this.

Another GB can help, but, again, this depends on what you're playing. You're probably not going to benefit if you play HL2. On the other hand, if you're playing BF2, I hear that 2GB is something that's a pretty good idea to have. I haven't played it myself, so I can't say for sure.

Remember, you can upgrade the RAM and move to SLI later. It's a nice option to have open down the road.
