I wonder, if motherboards on Intel chipsets can support SLI technology, or only motherboards on NVIDIA chipsets are able to do this. Thanks.
Yeah i believe some Intel chipsets support it. Just like this one: Abit AB9 QuadGT Core 2 Quad Intel P965 1066MHz FSB Dual Channel DDR2 800 LGA775 Socket 775/T ATX Motherboard w/ SLI 2x PCI-Express x16, Audio, SATA 3G/II, eSATA, RAID, GB LAN, USB 2.0, Firewire 1394a (Retail) Took me a while to find it... but i think the nForce mobo's are easier to find...
They can, but basically, nVidia has not licensed Intel to officially run SLI, nor will nVidia authorize their drivers to allow SLI on any non-nForce chipset. There's nothing technical about it preventing things from working...just nVidia wanting you to buy as much of their products as possible.
