I was wondering whether there is anything I should know about Slockets?
Do they hit performance in any way?
Are there certain things I should look out for?

The issues that I can recall really deal with SMP configs, where there were certain ones that you wanted to use, Asus in particular.

So just to clarify - Using a Slocket instead of a native Slot 1 CPU will not hit performance?

Well i've got my Slocket, and I've stuck a 1GHz Coppermine CPU in there. Everything works OK :)

I've overclocked it to 1.12Ghz (10.0x112) with no problems. It's being cooled by that Arkua cooler I bought a few months ago. It runs at about 26c under load, so that's pretty good.
I wanted to overclock it to 1.3GHz (10.0x133) but my motherboard and RAM can't hack it :eek:hah:
