Can anyone explain why I can only use 1.99 GB of hard drive when it is a 20.53 GB harddrive?
    :(

We're going to need more info than that!

What system are you running? (specs please)
Is the drive partitioned with more than 1 partition?
Are you using NTFS or FAT32?
Does your motherbaord have support for large drives?

Okay, FAT16 is unable to support anything larger than 2GB. You'll have to format the remaining space as FAT32, or have 9 more 2GB partitions if you stick with FAT16. You'll need a 3rd party software to format the remaining space. Better yet, if you don't have that much on the partition, you could back up what you have, take it to a computer running Win2k or XP and format the drive as FAT32, pop it back in your computer and go from there. You may also be able to use the formatting tools (have a Win98 bootdisk handy) on the Data Lifeguard floppy.

I found the FAT 32 converter in my Win 98 Acc file . Used it to convert but
only got a extra 400MB . When I click on my C drive it now shows it as 2.14 GB instead 1.99 GB with 434 MB free.
Another thing I noticed was when I go into the Western Digital Lifeguard diagnostics screen there are two drives ,a physical drive which shows it to be
    21GB and a logical drive ( C:/) 2.14 GB with 448 MB free.
Any suggestions on how to get the other 18GB free up would be greatly
    appreciated. Thanks
